Sidequest privacy, for kids
What Sidequest knows about you
- Your first name or nickname, the one your grown-up typed in.
- The avatar and color you picked.
- Your chores, which ones you finished, and the XP and rewards you earned.
- Notes your grown-ups write about your chores and rewards.
- A scrambled code for the Apple account on your device. If your grown-up tells Apple to stop Sidequest, the code is how we find your device and switch it off.
What Sidequest does not know
- Where you are.
- Your face. Sidequest never asks for a photo.
- Your email, your phone number, or your address.
- How old you are. Your device may ask Apple whether you’re under 18, but Sidequest doesn’t see or keep the answer.
Who can see it
Your grown-ups can see everything in your part of the app. Nobody outside your family can see your chores or your name in the app. The people who run Sidequest can look, but only to fix a problem or when your grown-up asks for help. We don’t show ads, and we don’t sell anything about you.
Who helps us keep it working
Two big companies help the app run: one stores the information on servers, and one sends notifications to your device. They aren’t allowed to use it for anything else.
Your say
If you don’t want Sidequest to have your name any more, tell your grown-up. They can switch Sidequest off for you, and then Sidequest stops collecting anything from your devices. They can also take you out of the app, and your information goes away from Sidequest (a copy in our backups takes up to a month to go too). If no grown-up opens Sidequest for a whole year, we may delete your family’s information.
Questions?
Ask a grown-up first. They can write to us at [email protected].
